Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to the questions buyers ask most about the R1 controller.
Yes. The R1 connects over standard Bluetooth to both Android and Apple devices, as well as most tablets and PCs. There is no jailbreak, no app subscription and no extra fee — just pair it from your device's Bluetooth menu.
It works with games and VR apps that accept an external Bluetooth controller — including popular mobile titles such as King of Glory, Modern Warfare and other Tencent online games. Titles built purely for touch may need a key-mapping tool, or you can use the R1 in mouse mode instead.
Use the M button on the side of the ring to cycle through game, mouse, music, camera shutter and e-book modes. The included manual lists the exact key combination for each mode.
Most players adapt within a few matches. The ring sits on your index finger with the thumbstick under your thumb, so the grip feels natural quickly — and once it clicks, going back to thumbs-on-glass feels cramped.
The R1 has a built-in rechargeable battery and charges through the USB port on the underside of the body using any standard phone charger or laptop USB port.
